C.D.P. is an abbrevaition for Community Development Project. C.D.P's are funding by the Department of Community Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs under the Community Development Programme.

Who funds South West Cavan C.D.P. Ltd?

South West Cavan C.D.P. Ltd receives core funding (Salaries, Overheads and Administration costs) from the Department of Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs under the Community Development Programme. We source funds for our programme costs and activities from other statutory bodies such as Cavan Partnership, Cavan Monaghan Rural Development Co op Society (LEADER), Cavan V.E.C., Cavan Community and Voluntary Forum, H.S.E, Dormant Accounts, PEACE III, Katherine Howard Foundation.

Who manages South West Cavan C.D.P. Ltd?

South West Cavan C.D.P. Ltd is managed by a voluntary Board of Directors who are elected at each Annual General Meeting. The Board of Directors is made up of local people from the South West Cavan area hwo are over 18 years of age. The minimum number of Directors is 7 and the maximum is 14. The Project employs a Coordinator and a Development Worker to take care of the day to day running of the project.

How can I get involved with the Project?

You can volunteer with the Project by joining our Board of Directors at our A.G.M. or at any stage during the year provided there is a place available on the Board. You can also volunteer for our Befriending Scheme at any time by contacting the C.D.P. office (contact details at bottom of page).
